What is the Faustino?

This is the latest domestic grinder from Rocket Espresso Milano – The Faustino.

It’s amazingly well built, aesthetically beautiful, ergonomic in use and looks absolutely stunning next to the Rocket Espresso Machines themselves.

Think the size of a Eureka Mignon Vs a much slicker cousin of the Mazzer Mini and you’re pretty close.

Is it any good?

The Faustino is probably the best of both worlds when it comes to high quality domestic electric espresso grinders. It’s produced by Eureka, who are responsible for producing the best domestic grinder on the market (The Mignon) and the best commercial grinder in the industry (The Mythos).

It fuses the performance of Eureka grinders, with their patented micro-metric adjustment dial alongside the design aesthetic of the Rocket range.

What is it capable of?

The Faustino is capable of grinding to an excellent standard of espresso grind. Speed wise you are looking at around 9 seconds for a 17g double shot. This is due to it’s 50mm flat steel burrs.

It’s a dedicated espresso grinder, meaning it grinds out of the shute (on-demand grinding), directly into your espresso handle (portafilter), reducing waste and maintaining freshness.

How do I use it?

The Faustino is very easy to program, with it’s touch screen controls housed on the top of the dosing funnel. You can store two programs (volumes based on time), adjustable with plus / minus buttons for 0.1 second intervals. It’s a simple and very effective interface, making set up and dial in easy.

Which version is this?

This is the copper Appartamento finish version. It is designed in the exact same style as the current compact Appartamento machines, with cut out circles on the sides with an inner copper panel for effect. The perfect pairing.
